The development of sovereign AI systems demands a governed environment to ensure secure and ethical operation. This thesis is grounded in the architecture of MirrorGate, where policy bindings and sandbox provisioning enable the integration of various AI models, such as Codex, Gemini, and Claude, in a structured and secure manner. I built MirrorGate to address the tension between AI alignment and system resilience. The system's design emphasizes the importance of clear policies and sandboxed environments for AI operations. For instance, MirrorGate's policy bindings allow for the definition of spend limits alongside risk tiers, ensuring that budget is a governance dimension, not an afterthought.
